2019 Dee Musk Workshop Weekend
Over the weekend of Friday 8th November 2019 and Saturday 9th November we held our second ever workshop weekend.
Our invited guest instructor was the AMAZING Dee Musk from the United Kingdom.
Dee is one of the top UK instructors and choreographers and has won many awards so I felt very honoured when she accepted my invitation to instruct at a workshop here in NZ.
Dee won our hearts with her incredible sense of humour, her warmth and friendliness, and of course her incredible dancing, dances and teaching.....we loved every minute we spent in her company.
People traveled to this event from as far north as Whangarei and as far south as Dunedin and everywhere in between....we even had one person from Australia...my friend and fellow instructor and choreographer Luke Watson.
If you wonder what the significance is of all the words on the walls....they are the names of just some of the dances choreographed or co-choreographed by Dee and we did this as a way to recognize her talent.
A number of the dances on the wall have won awards such as "Little Red Book" and "Footprints in the Sand".
Unfortunately Dee was unable to spend a lot of time in NZ owing to other work commitments back in the UK but my husband and I did get to take her to Greytown and Martinborough in the Wairarapa and some of the local dancers joined us for dinner on the Sunday evening at a local Thai restaurant in Porirua which was a lovely way to round off a great weekend.
